Psalm 127:3 Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him. God gave us children as a reward but He also set some rules on how we must take care of this gift. Proverbs 22:6 Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. As a head of the house man is commanded to live life and lead the house in a manner that is respectful. 1 Timothy 3:4 He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full respect. Even when you discipline, it must be in a loving way. Ephesians 6:4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord, Colossians 3:21 Fathers, do not aggravate your children, or they will become discouraged.
Children are dear in God’s side and for us to enter His Kingdom, we must receive the teachings as children. Children don’t reason much. You cannot follow God’s instructions if you reason too much. Mark 9:36-37 He took a little child whom he placed among them. Taking the child in his arms, he said to them, “Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.”
There is also a way the gift is expected to behave, Colossians 3:20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.
