It is easy to believe God when you have found favor in Him than when you have asked for His grace. Most of us pray and when the answer comes, we miss it because we did not prepare to receive. Zechariah and Elizabeth, righteous and blameless as they were, were childless because Elizabeth was not able to conceive, and they were both very old. Luke 1:13 But the angel said to him: “Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to call him John. Zechariah still didn’t believe; This is where most of us are. See what happens when you don’t believe. Your blessings will delay, there will be silence or mute as in the case of Zechariah. Luke 1:20 And now you will be silent and not able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true at their appointed time.” When there is favor from the Lord, you have no reason not to believe. The same Angel of the Lord now visited Mary. Luke 1:30-31 But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. Those who believe celebrate before actualization. Luke 1:38 “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her. Was it not supposed to be Zechariah who believe because he has asked from the Lord in prayer? Where are you between the two?
