2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Break old ties. The old has passed,so when people see you, they must see the new you.
Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Transformation means you have come out of the image of the world and you are moving towards the image of Christ. You must be completely stripped of every troubling sin or weight, staying away from that which you have been delivered from.
Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
There are situations that God allows to show his greatness. When the devil plans to kill you, God allows it but saves you in a situation we could speak otherwise. Job 1:12 And the LORD said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person.” So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.
Yesterday our ministry 22 seater bus was involved in a serious accident. We had to look for people hospital to hospital until we could account for all members. One child was flung outside the bus but in all this God did not allow a soul to be lost. Initially there were serious cases but they were all stabilized. The person we found at the scene could have made you loose hope.
There are things that will happen where you will say “By this i know that God is with me” trusting God requires an experience with him that even when the devil feeds you with lies, the incident will atest to his greatness and love for you. Exodus 3:12 So He said, “I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.”
Separate yourself from the accursed things, things you have been delivered from. If you have been delivered from drugs, you must disconnect yourself from the friends and lifestyle that can easily draw you back or pull you backwards. Joshua 6:18 And you, by all means abstain from the accursed things, lest you become accursed when you take of the accursed things, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.
When God has saved and delivered you, and you obtain victory in an area of your life, you must have an ear to hear further instructions of the Lord. God takes you from one level to the next. Know that as you move to the next level, you will experience challenges equivalent to it. When you get saved and delivered, you do not join a club membership; you enroll in the greatest army ever! God is taking His people from a “membership mentality” to a “warfare mentality” Judges 3:1-2 Now these are the nations which the LORD left, that He might test Israel by them, that is, all who had not known any of the wars in Canaan (this was only so that the generations of the children of Israel might be taught to know war, at least those who had not formerly known it).
Guard your thought life, you are only as delivered as you think. Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, But his heart is not with you.
Satan will try to minister to you and tell you that you are not free. When you believe you are free, you will hear him from afar, because God’s voice will be so much louder.
When we know God’s voice, it will help us not to follow the enemy.
John 10:5 Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”
Take responsibility for your deliverance. Once you have submitted yourself to God, learn to resist the devil. If you do, he must flee. James 4:7-8 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
After you received your deliverance, you must move forward. When the of Israel were delivered from Egypt, their greatest challenge was coming out of “bondage mentality”
When God sets you free, the enemy attempts to get you to remember the good things about your bondage because he wants to make serving God seem harder.
Go forth based on the word of God. The greatest aspect of deliverance is hope. It gives a foundation for our faith.
Exodus 14:5 Now it was told the king of Egypt that the people had fled, and the heart of Pharaoh and his servants was turned against the people; and they said, “Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?”
Lot was delivered out of sodom and commanded never to look back. When his wife looked back, she lost her deliverance. Genesis 19:26 But his wife looked back behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
Fellowship with other believers. Find a living church that believes in the ministry of Jesus Christ. You must stay connected. 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
One of the primary targets is a believer who does not have proper spiritual connection or covering. Hebrews 10:24-25 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
We must not forsake the fellowship we have with others. Those who allow themselves to be separated from the flock will be devoured by the lion.
Matthew 5:13-14 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
