Matthew 15:2 “Why do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.”
Sometimes as a christian, you find yourself having to make decisions that defy culture and the way we were meant to think and do things. People are sensitive towards cultural beliefs and tradition to an extent that Christians find themselves complying with culture or tradition because of fear of offending the people they hold dear. In so doing compromising their principles.
The bible teach us that in this journey, we are dealing with powers and principalities. That compromise you make become a good opportunity for the devil, for the unseen to manifest itself. Ephesians 6:12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Being in the company of people who are ignorant to spiritual things can make a Christian’s life risky. It’s better to be separated and let people talk than to find yourself among people who can lead to you compromising your Christianity.
Matthew 15:3 Jesus replied, “And why do you, by your traditions, violate the direct commandments of God?
