2 Kings 2:9 And so it was, when they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you?” Elisha said, “Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.”

True servant hood.

When you serve, you dedicate your time. Sometimes that means being away from those you love. You need to understand that it is not a physical walk. There is impartation that happens in the spiritual realm.

2 Kings 2:2 Then Elijah said to Elisha, “Stay here, please, for the LORD has sent me on to Bethel.” But Elisha said, “As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!” So they went down to Bethel.

When you understand the spiritual relationship, serving become easy. People can talk but the reward is worth the sleepless nights. 2 Kings 2:9 When they came to the other side, Elijah said to Elisha, “Tell me what I can do for you before I am taken away.” And Elisha replied, “Please let me inherit a double share of your spirit and become your successor.”

Declaration of a Prophet.

1 Corinthians 7:25 Now concerning virgins: I have no commandment from the Lord; yet I give judgment as one whom the Lord in His mercy has made trustworthy.

A Prophet can declare not because God spoke but it happens because of the relationship he has with God. 2 Kings 1:10 So Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, “If I am a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men.” And fire came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty.

The same way Joshua commanded the sun to stand still, Prophets of today can still declare and the favor of God upon them makes it comes to pass.

Matthew 10:41 He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.
