Security has always been an issues even in the era of our master Jesus. Whenever you are doing something good, always remember that there will be those who will plot against you. Sometimes those around you becomes a gateway to your security system. As a man or woman of God, you cannot afford to be ignorant of these facts. John 18:1-8 After saying these things, Jesus crossed the Kidron Valley with his disciples and entered a grove of olive trees. Judas, the betrayer, knew this place, because Jesus had often gone there with his disciples. The leading priests and Pharisees had given Judas a contingent of Roman soldiers and Temple guards to accompany him. Now with blazing torches, lanterns, and weapons, they arrived at the olive grove. Jesus fully realized all that was going to happen to him, so he stepped forward to meet them. “Who are you looking for?” he asked. “Jesus the Nazarene,” they replied. “I AM he,” Jesus said. (Judas, who betrayed him, was standing with them.) As Jesus said “I AM he,” they all drew back and fell to the ground! Once more he asked them, “Who are you looking for?” And again they replied, “Jesus the Nazarene.” “I told you that I AM he,” Jesus said. “And since I am the one you want, let these others go.”
The Bible tells us that Judas and his men were armed with weapons, their plan was not to threaten Jesus and the Disciples. Jesus’s enemies knew where He will be and the vulnerabilities because they had Judas on their side who was close to Jesus. When a church implements security measures, people always complains on the necessity and requirements. God has given us wisdom to know that as much as you are covered and protected, you cannot be ignorant when it comes to security. Peter, as a person close to Jesus was always armed with a sword. It was not something to decorate, he was able to use it when situations calls for it.
Paul in his past life, was responsible for harassing and killing Christians. There are places where you cannot just go and Minister without protection. Acts 8:1 Saul was one of the witnesses, and he agreed completely with the killing of Stephen. A great wave of persecution began that day, sweeping over the church in Jerusalem; and all the believers except the apostles were scattered through the regions of Judea and Samaria.
We are Spirit beings with human experience. When you leave in Neighborhood or country with crime, you cannot say I will pray and not put on alarm system at your home, that will be ignorant and foolish.
