Being a Christian but refusing to let go of old self

There are people who the devil doesn’t have to work hard to use them because they choose to continue with their old self. Sometimes we even boast about our weaknesses. When I’m angry, I’m like this..I will show him/her..Acknowledge your weakness and ask God to help you where you can’t. Colossians 3:8-10 But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him.
There are things we can do on our own and there are those that we must give to God. Refuse the devil at all cost and don’t allow him to use for his purpose. James 4:7-8 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

When your home is in tatters, don’t look at your Neighbour’s faults for why your home is broken.

Matthew 7:3-5 And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
