Fighting principalities, means what is before us cannot be handled with our normal capability. When the disciples could not cure the epileptic boy, Jesus said “This kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
Ephesians 6:12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
Many Christians are ignorant of powers and principalities that affects us daily. Even when you are prayerful and committed to serving God, you can still be afflicted and God give a green light to it. It is the same challenges that moves us closer to God. Job 1:8-12 Then the LORD asked Satan, “Have you noticed my servant Job? He is the finest man in all the earth. He is blameless-a man of complete integrity. He fears God and stays away from evil.” Satan replied to the LORD, “Yes, but Job has good reason to fear God. You have always put a wall of protection around him and his home and his property. You have made him prosper in everything he does. Look how rich he is! But reach out and take away everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face!” “All right, you may test him,” the LORD said to Satan. “Do whatever you want with everything he possesses, but don’t harm him physically.” So Satan left the LORD’s presence.
The powers and principalities can also cause delays in things that we are expecting, things that are rightfully ours. Daniel 9:23 The moment you began praying, a command was given. And now I am here to tell you what it was, for you are very precious to God. Listen carefully so that you can understand the meaning of your vision.
John 9:6-7 Then he spit on the ground, made mud with the saliva, and spread the mud over the blind man’s eyes. He told him, “Go wash yourself in the pool of Siloam” (Siloam means “sent”). So the man went and washed and came back seeing!
What would be our response to this kind of healing the way we think today? Jesus was also criticized. The fact that deliverance cannot be explained in our common sense, is what opens people to abuse
Leaders are humans and are sometimes overwhelmed and act according to flesh. Be able to maintain a sane mind and remain humble. 1 Samuel 26:9-11 “No!” David said. “Don’t kill him. For who can remain innocent after attacking the LORD’s anointed one? Surely the LORD will strike Saul down someday, or he will die of old age or in battle. The LORD forbid that I should kill the one he has anointed! But take his spear and that jug of water beside his head, and then let’s get out of here!”
Hebrews 3:7-8 That is why the Holy Spirit says, “Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your heartsas Israel did when they rebelled, when they tested me in the wilderness. We don’t only offend God in our actions but our minds also need cleansing. We must repent from our unclean thoughts and ask God to help us conquer our weaknesses. The moment we put value in giving, we are more likely to disobey God. No matter the tall ask of sacrificing his son, Abraham kept the offering to himself and trusted God. Matthew 5:28 But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
What will we be without our possessions, what will happen of us, if we wake up and find all material things gone?
1 John 4:11-13 Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us. And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us.
