Calamities follows from moving away from God.

Hosea 10:10 Now whenever it fits my plan, I will attack you, too. I will call out the armies of the nations to punish you for your multiplied sins.

Currently so many bad things are happening around the world. We have normalized things that were forbidden in the past in the name of rights. When calamities comes we say, where is God in all this? Isn’t it time we repent and go back to God. 1 Corinthians 6:12 You say, “I am allowed to do anything”-but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a slave to anything.

Psalm 102:1-2 LORD, hear my prayer! Listen to my plea! Don’t turn away from me in my time of distress. Bend down to listen, and answer me quickly when I call to you. There are times when you feel so overwhelmed by challenges that you wonder what is God’s opinion about your situation. Your prayers seems to to just hit the ceiling and return void. Remember that God is God forever, whatever situation that we pass through, it does not change who He is and His promises. Psalm 102:12 But you, O LORD, will sit on your throne forever. Your fame will endure to every generation.

Complaining also opens a gap for the devil to feed you with negative ideas. Having faith in God requires you to understand that God is aware and is working out a plan to rescue you and that you will come out stronger and shame the enemy.

God the Almighty will rescue you.

Your enemies might celebrate thinking God has abandoned you. He’s got a plan to rescue.
God’s promises remains, He will never leave nor forsake you. He will come in due time when they think it’s over.

Micah 4:11-12 Now many nations have gathered against you. “Let her be desecrated,” they say. “Let us see the destruction of Jerusalem. ” But they do not know the LORD’s thoughts or understand his plan. These nations don’t know that he is gathering them together to be beaten and trampled like sheaves of grain on a threshing floor.

When you go to church it’s not that the problems become less but you manage them well because you have someone carrying the burden.
Matthew 11:28-30 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Don’t attribute your misfortune to the devil.

Jeremiah 23:23-24 “Am I a God near at hand,” says the LORD, “And not a God afar off? Can anyone hide himself in secret places, So I shall not see him?” says the LORD; “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the LORD. When you are a committed Christian and something bad happens to you and you immediately link it to Satan, you are indirectly saying God is not there for you. Isaiah 59:1 Listen! The LORD’s arm is not too weak to save you, nor is his ear too deaf to hear you call.

God said He will never leave us nor forsake us and His promises are Yes and Amen. The plan of the devil is for us to turn our back on Christ. Job 2:9 His wife said to him, “Are you still trying to maintain your integrity? Curse God and die.”

To be a Christian does not mean you are not going to have challenges. Nothing happens without God authorizing it. Troubles helps us make necessary adjustments in life. 2 Samuel 22:31 As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.

In your situation, what is God saying. Jesus is there in the situation but want you to learn to trust His presence in your things.
Matthew 8:23-24 Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep.

When your home is in tatters, don’t look at your Neighbour’s faults for why your home is broken.

Matthew 7:3-5 And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
