As a leader, you can’t be consistent with those you lead

The people you are leading are not always on the same level. So what you decide for a junior can’t be the same for a senior person. If you do, would it motivate them? Jesus dealt with people at the level where they were at. When people ran out of wine, he gave them wine. John 2:7-9 Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it. When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom.
You have to manage or lead in a way that suits the situation. Jesus was worried about their soul not their immediate weakness. John 2:11 This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.

Born Leaders are different to made leaders.

If leadership training makes great leaders, all who attend would come out best. Training just polishes what already exist.
There are people who are anointed for leadership, that’s what set them apart from the group.

Romans 12:8 If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.

There are those who are born to lead but because of lack of knowledge tries the shortcuts thereby prolonging their destiny.

Genesis 25:31 But Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright as of this day.”Because of trying shortcuts, Jacob prolonged his destiny. He was already declared a leader but tried to get it using his own ability.

Whenever a dark period descends upon any nation, there arise a deep and distinct urgency for a ‘leader of calibre’ to lead it into the light.

Exodus 3:11 NKJV
But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?”

Because of the oppression of people, we had Martin Luther King, Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela.

A good leader will teach theory and practice to those he is leading whilst he is leaving.

John 5:20 For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.

If you don’t teach them your ministry will die with you. There are ministries that were powerful but after the leader past on, they fell apart.

Develop the emerging leaders in your ministry

Philemon 1:10-13 I appeal to you for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten while in my chains, who once was unprofitable to you, but now is profitable to you and to me. I am sending him back. You therefore receive him, that is, my own heart, whom I wished to keep with me, that on your behalf he might minister to me in my chains for the gospel.

You must be able to release the people you have trained.
