Proverbs 24:33-34 A little extra sleep, a little more slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest- then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit; scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.
Sacrifice half the time you spend in front of the TV or the time spent out drinking towards making something to better your life, even if it means reading two pages of a book that stimulates your mind. Every evening, we look forward to spending time with our favorite tv characters, remember that they are making money during that time while you are stealing yours. I’m not in any way saying we must not have leisure time, but let’s balance it. Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.
Most can do anything to make sure that they have a good weekend but fail to spend time thinking how to supplement their income. Think about how much liquor stores makes over the weekend and how much we are left with for a leaving. The stats must be shocking.
Thinking money attracts money but don’t just think without an action. Our minds are very capable of expanding what we feed it with. If you start thinking ways of making money, the mind starts to open up. I’m not saying this because I have a lot of money but there are couple of things I have tried to supplement my income and know how it feels not to wait for pay day because I got something extra.
Look at your new year’s resolution and what could have impeded you if it were not a lack of discipline and sacrifice.
When you use your possessions to manipulate people, the day God open doors of breakthrough in their life, you’ll call them names because that relationships with them only served your ego. You can’t be happy when you are the only one who is successful.
Luke 16:9 Here’s the lesson: Use your worldly resources to benefit others and make friends. Then, when your possessions are gone, they will welcome you to an eternal home.
Matthew 26:14-15 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver Him to you?” And they counted out to him thirty pieces of silver.
There is nothing wrong with having material things but the love thereof will lead to sin.
Proverbs 23:5 Will you set your eyes on that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; They fly away like an eagle toward heaven. Use your money to serve God’s people, don’t use God’s people to serve your money appetite.Luke 12:20-21 “But God said to him, ‘You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get everything you worked for?’ “Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God.”
Worry about a relationship with God not earthly things. Money is good if it draws people close to God. Proverbs 11:28 Trust in your money and down you go! But the godly flourish like leaves in spring.
Acts 3:6 Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”
The more you know God the wiser you become. To know God, that will transform you. Psalm 30:9 “What profit is there in my blood, When I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your truth? When you have God you have all you need. Success is God’s time, God’s presence and God’s will. Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
