Moses, Saul, David, Jonah and Paul did not have the intention of working for God when the Word came on them.

1 Corinthians 1:26-29 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence.

It’s not a mistake.

Every stage of your life is known by God. Where you are now is not a surprise for God. The disappearance of Kish’s donkeys was divine incidence. It caused panic to the family but to Samuel, it was Devine incident.1 Samuel 9:15-16 Now the LORD had told Samuel the previous day, “About this time tomorrow I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin. Anoint him to be the leader of my people, Israel. He will rescue them from the Philistines, for I have looked down on my people in mercy and have heard their cry.”

Undesirable things happens in our life and we are quick to attribute it to Satan. God promised never to leave us but we always think of the presence of the devil than the presence of God in our situation. During the time Job was facing difficult loss of his children, it looked like God has forsaken him but everything was approved by God.

When good things happens, we bless and praise God but when bad happens, we think God is not aware. We only expect the good things and are never prepared for disappointments. 2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching.

Thank God for everything in your life.

God has forgiven us. The price has been paid.

Romans 8:1-2 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

Satan want to have a hold on you, something that will stop you from going to God because of shame. The devil always look for loopholes to attack but because God loves us, he gave us a second chance. He said we started on a wrong foot, my son, let’s start again. Every time you runs to God, Satan pulls out a page and reminds you of things from the past. Psalm 32:2 Yes, what joy for those whose record the LORD has cleared of guilt, whose lives are lived in complete honesty!

Believe that God has done all this in order to have a relationship with you.

How satisfying is the sounds of these words “Your sins are forgiven.

The testimony of Jesus is the Spirit if prophecy.

A church needs direction from a prophet on what Jesus is saying. It’s not only enough to know the Word, you need to know where you should be. Revelation 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

Be aware of powers and principalities but don’t live in fear.

Lamentations 3:37 Who can command things to happen without the Lord’s permission? Satan thrives on putting fear amongst Christians. We pray in panic rather than a having relationship with our God. God promised that He will never leave us no forsake us. As much as you acknowledge the powers and principalities on this earth, know the God you are following. Ecclesiastes 3:14 And I know that whatever God does is final. Nothing can be added to it or taken from it. God’s purpose is that people should fear him. Take control of your thoughts, don’t let them control you. Respect man but fear God. Fear is like a prison, free yourself, think God first not your trouble. Be calm in the storm. Exodus 14:14 The LORD himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”

What is the view of people outside church about the person you are following?

As Christians, we are sometimes too quick to dismiss the view of people outside church. If we are true ambassadors of Christ, our behavior should not conflict with what people think God is about. Not that we must agree with them but, people should see church as a good place for the broken hearted. 1 Timothy 3:6-7 A church leader: People outside the church must speak well of him so that he will not be disgraced and fall into the devil’s trap.

Many people hate church today because of church leaders conduct and because we are blinded by the love for our pastors we often become defensive.
